This tool is for park and recreation managers to use in helping improve park and recreational activity data for Georgia. Please review instructions below. This information will be used by Georgia Dept. of Parks & Recreation for its 2016 outdoor recreation plan. Parks data is from Univ. Georgia Athens 2012 (with updates), and Recreation Activities Data is from a prior survey by Kramer, et al.
The application uses GreenInfo Network'sMapCollaborator, and lets you place notes and park entry points, draw new parks, and identify recreational activities in any park.
Use "Search Panel" to find your agency's parks, or just zoom into the map (you can download a list of these results).
Use "Post a Note" panel to comment on park data or note missing parks - move cursor onto map and click at a location, fill out the form.
Use "Add a park area" panel to draw the outline of parks that are missing. Note: parks for this purpose generally do not include small landscape medians or traffic circles.
Choose the orange "Edit Recreation Activities in Parks" panel to enter information about activities in each of your agency's parks, or choose "Edit Activities" in any park popup window. If you are adding a park on the map, you will be prompted to enter amenity information in the Editor when saving that park area.
